Quails' Gate Winery
location_onWest Kelowna, Okanagan Valley
Quails' Gate Winery is one of British Columbia's landmark wine estates, family-owned since 1989 and set on the slopes of West Kelowna overlooking Okanagan Lake. The winery's philosophy that exceptional wine starts in the vineyard shapes everything a visitor encounters, from the estate walking tour and tasting experiences that lead guests through the vines, to a portfolio spanning reds, whites, rosé and aromatic whites. Recognition has followed; the winery recently received the 2026 Wine Growers Canada Award of Distinction, adding to a long record at the forefront of Okanagan winemaking. The estate's Old Vines Restaurant is a destination unto itself, serving inspired farm-to-table cuisine daily from late morning through the evening, with menus that follow the seasonal harvest and a dining room and terrace positioned to drink in the spectacular lake views.
Few BC wineries offer as complete a visit. Beyond tastings and dining, guests can play pétanque on the lawn in the winery's Lawn League, browse an extensive wine shop, or even stay on the property at The Lake House and The Nest, the estate's accommodation options for those who want to wake up in the vineyard. A wine club provides ongoing member benefits, and corporate gifting and online shopping extend the experience beyond the valley. West Kelowna's wine route, strung along the benches above the lake just across the bridge from downtown Kelowna, is one of the Okanagan Valley's busiest and most rewarding, and Quails' Gate stands as its anchor estate. Whether the plan is a quick flight at the tasting bar, a long lunch at Old Vines, or a full overnight escape among the vines, this is a winery built to host visitors properly, and it remains an essential stop on any central Okanagan itinerary.
