What this is

Wine Tours in BC is an independent directory of 288 British Columbia wineries, cideries, distilleries and meaderies, built by one person. It exists to help visitors find producers worth their time and plan a route between them.

Being straight about the commercial side: the site also offers a paid custom tour-planning service. So while listings are free and nobody pays for placement, this is a business, not a hobby project.

Where the information came from

Nothing here was supplied by the businesses themselves. Listings were compiled from publicly available sources:

• Names, addresses and locations — collected from public listings and each producer's own website, then individually checked and geocoded. These we have reasonable confidence in.
• Descriptions — drafted with the help of an AI language model working from public information, then imported in bulk. They have not all been verified line by line. If a description says something inaccurate about your business — a founding date, a person's name, what you produce — that is a mistake on our side, not a claim we're standing behind. Tell us and it goes.
• Hours and phone numbers — deliberately not stored. Stored hours go stale and mislead people, so each listing links to Google Maps for live hours and reviews instead.
• Photographs — we previously displayed images loaded directly from producers' own websites. We have removed all of them. What you see on a listing now is a stylised illustration of the surrounding wine region — it is artwork, not a photograph, and it is not a picture of the business it appears beside. We will only display an actual photo of your business if you have given us permission to use it.

What you can ask for

• Correct anything — description, address, website, region, or the type of producer you are.
• Remove the listing entirely — no reason needed, no counter-offer, no "are you sure".
• Take control of it — we can link the listing to an account so you can edit it yourself.
• Tell us you've closed or changed hands, so we stop sending people to a business that isn't there.

Will you email me?

We may contact BC producers about their own listing. If we do, the message will identify who we are, include our mailing address, and include a working unsubscribe link — and if you unsubscribe, we won't email you again. We don't sell or share contact details.

How listings are ranked

They aren't. Nobody pays for position, and there is no premium tier. Directory results are ordered alphabetically or by the filter you chose.
