Dirty Laundry Vineyard

Dirty Laundry Vineyard is one of the Okanagan's most playful winery destinations, perched on the hillside above Summerland with sweeping views over vineyards and Okanagan Lake. The cheeky name is rooted in local lore: the property's story reaches back to an early-1900s Chinese laundry that, as the tale goes, hid a speakeasy, and the winery has spun that history into an irreverent brand that runs through everything from the wine names to the tasting room banter. Bottles like the Hush line, Bordello and Woo Woo sit alongside more classically labelled Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, roses, sparkling wines and canned options, and the portfolio has collected multiple medals at major competitions.

The visitor experience is built for lingering. The tasting bar pours daily from 11am to 5pm, with a beer flight option for the non-wine-drinkers in the group, and the winery's signature award-winning patio, open seasonally from roughly April through October, is one of the most popular perches in Summerland for an afternoon glass with vineyard views. Food comes from the Red Iron Grille, serving wood-fired pizzas, smoked meats and shareable plates, and the calendar stays busy with Sangria Sundays featuring live music, lobster dinners and seasonal celebrations. A wine club adds member perks for regulars. Summerland itself is an appealing base on the west side of Okanagan Lake, with beaches, the Kettle Valley Steam Railway and a cluster of bench wineries nearby, and Dirty Laundry has become an anchor stop on most local wine tours.
