Bench 1775 Winery

Bench 1775 Winery takes its name from its address at 1775 Naramata Road, in the heart of the celebrated Naramata Bench just outside Penticton. The tasting room and wine shop sit on a spectacular 30-acre waterfront vineyard property with sweeping 180-degree views of Okanagan Lake, and the patio has drawn extravagant praise, with wine critic Anthony Gismondi calling it the best patio in the world. The site has a longer history in BC wine, having previously operated as Soaring Eagle Winery before Paradise Ranch Wines Corp purchased the vineyard in June 2011 and rebranded it as Bench 1775.
The winery produces an award-winning portfolio that spans whites, rosé and reds along with icewines and late-harvest wines, sold across Canada and exported to several international markets; recent releases highlighted on the site include a gold-medal Riesling and a current-vintage Chardonnay. Visitors can taste daily from noon to 5 pm, though the property occasionally closes for private events, and the on-site Bench Patio Bistro serves food with waterfront dining views, making it easy to settle in for lunch above the lake. A wine club offers member benefits, the winery hosts private events, and free shipping is available on a dozen or more bottles within BC and Alberta. As one of the first wineries travellers reach heading up Naramata Road from Penticton, Bench 1775 makes a natural anchor for a bench tasting day: arrive for a flight, stay for the bistro and the lake views, then carry on to the smaller producers strung along the road toward Naramata village.
