Arrowleaf Cellars

Arrowleaf Cellars is a family-owned winery on a hillside just off Camp Road in Lake Country, where vineyards slope down toward Okanagan Lake and mountain views stretch in every direction. The winery was founded in 2001 by the Zuppiger family, who immigrated to Canada from the Zurich area of Switzerland, where they had run an organic orchard and dairy farm; Joe and Margrit and their five children put down roots in the Okanagan, and the family still owns and operates the winery today. Arrowleaf has since become one of the anchor stops on Lake Country's Scenic Sip wine trail, known both for its wines and for its contemporary tasting room, designed by architect Robert Mackenzie and opened in 2014, one of the more architecturally considered buildings in the area.

A visit here can easily stretch into an afternoon. The tasting room and patio overlook sweeping views of Okanagan Lake and the surrounding vineyards, and a family-friendly, dog-friendly picnic area invites guests to stay a while. An on-site kitchen and bakery turns out scratch-made lunch items and pastries, from cheese and charcuterie boards to hand-rolled flatbreads and fresh-baked breads, so visitors can pair their tasting with a proper meal in the open air. The winery is typically open daily, with longer hours on weekends. Located about twenty minutes north of Kelowna, Arrowleaf pairs naturally with neighbouring Lake Country wineries for a relaxed day of touring away from the busier southern valley. The combination of Swiss family heritage, lake-view setting and well-run hospitality has made it a reliable favourite for both first-time Okanagan visitors and returning locals.
