Pemberton Distillery

Set in the heart of the Coast Mountains in Pemberton, just north of Whistler, Pemberton Distillery is a family-owned pioneer of BC craft spirits. Established in 2008, it's one of the province's original craft distilleries and remains its only certified organic distillery, a distinction that defines everything they make. The flagship is Schramm Vodka, the world's only organic potato vodka, distilled from organic potatoes grown at a fourth-generation family farm just fifteen kilometres away and celebrated internationally, including Double Gold and Spirit of the Year honours at the World Spirits Awards in Austria. Alongside it you'll find organic gin, whisky, absinthe, schnaps and liqueurs, all crafted entirely on-site. The distillery does things the hard way for the right reasons, malting and milling its own grains, crushing its own potatoes and fruit, and distilling in hand-operated copper pot stills. A visit lets you see that craftsmanship up close. The distillery is open year-round and offers in-depth guided tours paired with artisan spirit tastings, so you can walk through the process from raw organic ingredients to finished bottle and sample the results, from the famous potato vodka to the gins and aged whiskies. It's an experience built for the curious, where you'll come away understanding exactly what organic, grain-to-glass distilling really means. The setting only adds to the appeal. Pemberton sits in a spectacular valley ringed by glaciers and peaks, a short and scenic drive beyond Whistler that rewards travelers willing to go a little farther up the Sea-to-Sky highway. Surrounded by farmland and mountains, it's a fitting home for a distillery so rooted in the land. For anyone interested in organic spirits or simply seeking out the best of BC craft, Pemberton Distillery is a genuine must-visit.
