Lillooet Cider Co.

location_onLillooet, Lillooet

Lillooet Cider Co. is Lillooet's first cidery, born from a love of the rugged, sun-baked landscape that surrounds this historic Fraser Canyon town. The focus here is small-batch, unfiltered craft cider made from heritage cider apples and hand-harvested local fruit. Many of the apples come from certified organic Riley Creek Farms, supplemented by fruit foraged from the riverbanks, farms and fields around Lillooet, blending traditional cider varieties with hand-picked dessert apples to build balanced, complex ciders. The result is a lineup of dry, gluten-free ciders with a real sense of where they come from, including inventive seasonal blends like an apricot cider that marries local apples and pears with Lillooet apricots. Because the ciders are unfiltered and made in small batches, each release reflects the particular fruit and conditions of its season, so there's always something new to discover. When you visit, you can taste through the current offerings and learn about the heritage apples and wild-harvested fruit that go into each blend, a story that's as much about the surrounding land as it is about the cider in your glass. The setting is genuinely distinctive. Lillooet sits in one of Canada's hottest, driest pockets, a high-desert landscape of sagebrush, river benches and dramatic canyon walls that has quietly become an emerging wine and cider destination, anchored nearby by the likes of Fort Berens. A stop at Lillooet Cider Co. pairs naturally with exploring that scene, and with the area's rich Gold Rush history and outdoor draws. For travelers venturing off the beaten path along Highway 99, it offers a warm, local welcome and a true taste of place in every pour, crafted by people who clearly love their corner of BC.
