Beaufort Vineyard & Estate Winery

Beaufort Vineyard & Estate Winery sits on Pickering Road in rural Courtenay, in the Comox Valley on the east coast of Vancouver Island, with the Beaufort mountain range as its backdrop. The winery holds a notable distinction in island winegrowing: in September 2019 it became the first certified organic vineyard on Vancouver Island, and in 2022 the winery itself received full organic certification. Across 18 estate acres the team grows eleven different grape varieties suited to the cool, maritime climate, including Ortega, Siegerrebe, Pinot Gris, Petite Milo, Gewurztraminer, Schonburger, Marechal Foch, Leon Millot, Lucie Kuhlmann, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, an unusually diverse planting that lets visitors taste the full breadth of what coastal BC can ripen.

The tasting room is open for tastings Wednesday through Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm, offering a relaxed, farm-gate style visit where the wines are poured close to the vines that produced them. The Comox Valley setting adds to the appeal: the winery is a short drive from Courtenay and Comox, surrounded by the farmland that supplies the region's well-known food scene, and it features on the Island Taste Trail alongside local cheesemakers, farms and producers.
